2025 Updates for the Surgery

As you may have seen in the news, the NHS is facing immense challenges this winter.

However, at Wickham Surgery, we are taking proactive steps to ensure we continue to support our patients and help our community stay healthy during this difficult time.

Reception Improvements

We’ve listened to your feedback, and starting January 2025, two members of staff will be present at the front desk the majority of the time.

This change is designed to reduce wait times and improve your experience when visiting the surgery.

Health Kiosk

Did you know we have a Health Kiosk in our reception area? It’s available for everyone, with no appointment necessary, and can record your blood pressure, height, and weight without needing to see a clinician. It’s been a great success so far, and we’re planning to introduce even more functions later this year. If you’d like to know more or need help using the kiosk, just ask a member of our reception team.

New Public Health Role

We’re thrilled to announce a new Public Health Lead role within our clinical team. This role will focus on ensuring all eligible patients receive their vaccinations on time, helping to keep you and our community safe.

Flu Vaccine

As you may have seen in the news, there’s a surge in flu cases in our community, which is having a significant impact on health services. We expect this to continue into February, so it’s more important than ever to protect yourself.

Flu can be serious, but the good news is that it’s preventable. If you’re eligible for a flu jab, we strongly encourage you to book an appointment now.

It’s quick, safe, and the most effective way to protect yourself and those around you.

Welborne Housing Development

We’re delighted to share that the vast majority of the new Welborne Garden Village will not fall within the boundary of Wickham Surgery. This outcome helps protect the viability of our services and ensures we can continue to provide high-quality care to our existing patients.

We remain committed to improving our services and welcome your feedback at any time. If you’d like to have more of a say in how we deliver services, we can also put you in contact with our active Patient Participation Group, which meets regularly to share ideas and suggestions.

Thank you once again for your support. Here’s to a healthy and positive year ahead!

With warm regards,

The Team at Wickham Surgery
